NFDB provides access to Release 14 of the USDA Nutrient Database containing over 4000 food items.
Each food item contains a complete nutritional breakdown of 25 nutrients such as:
- calories
- cholesterol
- amount of vitamins and minerals
- fat, fiber etc ...
- ability to browse, search and bookmark selected food items
*If during run-time you are getting an error "Database Error: Unable to open/create database" it is due
to my poor Unix scripting skills. It apears that my bash scripts that starts the actual executable is for some
reson failing
on newer Zaurus devices. All that script does is unzip the database file first time it is run, so even if it
fails all it needs to be done is to unzip $QPEDIR/pics/nfdb/FOODS.db ( rename it to .tar.gz and then ungzip)
NFDB is available for download at no cost.
Requirements: 5 MB of available disk (ram/cf/sd) space.
Users are strongly encouraged to install this application on SD or CF external memory card.
